After a big lap through the southwestern part of The Hague, the riders will receive a warm welcome in seaside resort Kijkduin. Besides the award ceremony for the first yellow jersey, there is a lot going on in the city on this day, and throughout the summer as a whole. <\/strong>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.23″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”||0px|||” link_option_url=”https:\/\/denhaag.com\/nl” link_option_url_new_window=”on” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n

At the finish in Kijkduin, watching, experiencing and cheering will be at the center. The finish location will be the place for cycling-loving The Hague. Local entrepreneurs will provide catering, there will be street theatre and small cycling activities. The Zuiderpark in The Hague, which is part of the route, will be transformed into a huge cycling festival on 12 August. <\/p>\n

There is something for everyone. For young and old, from culture to sports lovers and for people with and without disabilities. From a BMX track to a bike repair caf\u00e9 and from a tricycle race to a graffiti workshop on ‘painting race slogans on the track’. <\/p>\n

The Hague Sports Summer
<\/strong>The Hague once again shows itself as the sports city by the sea this summer. This is because the Tour de France Femmes is part of the Haagse Sportzomer. Together with the TeamNL <\/p>\n

Sport Experience and the European Beach Volleyball Championship, these events, together with many other top sports events, ensure a summer full of sporting fun in The Hague. A summer in which the people of The Hague and visitors to The Hague experience sport, watch sport, get inspired by top athletes and hopefully also get moving themselves. <\/p>\n

<\/strong>The municipality of The Hague, like other top sports events taking place in the city, is seizing the Tour de France Femmes as an opportunity to involve Hagenaars in the event and inspire them to get moving themselves. AN AGENDA FULL OF SPORTS FUN<\/strong><\/p>\n

25 May: (La F\u00eate du Tour) Sprint race on Lange Voorhout<\/strong>
Different groups will compete with each other on bikes: politicians from The Hague, well-known Hagenaars, top athletes, children, youth youngsters, people with disabilities, cycling communities and passers-by.<\/p>\n

All Wednesdays in June: school programme Tour de France Femmes<\/strong>
The schools programme consists of four road cycling activities for grade 8, 1st and 2nd grade students. Virtual cycling on the Champs-Elysees, cycling safety (smartphones, lights and music), VR warm-up and Game Time! <\/p>\n

July en august: TeamNL Sport Experience<\/strong>
The TeamNL Sport Experience consists of free sports events where visitors are introduced to all kinds of different sports. This summer, the TeamNL Sport Experience will take place from 6 to 10 August on The Hague beach and 11 times in July and August on various squares and (sports) fields throughout The Hague. <\/p>\n

The Tour de France Femmes zone looks like this:

Theme week Zuiderparktheater<\/strong>
The Zuiderpark Theatre is transformed into a festival ground every summer with all kinds of activities, performances, workshops and special performances for children. From 6 to 8 August, the festival site is dedicated to the Tour de France Femmes. The programming consists of all kinds of cultural and sports activities related to cycling.<\/p>\n

Photo exhibition: Hague women on bicycles<\/strong>
There will be an outdoor photo exhibition in City Hall, the Zuiderpark and on Kijkduin, depicting Hague women on bicycles. Starting with Mien van Bree, who was a true pioneer in putting women’s cycling on the map. She personifies The Hague\u2019s cycling history. Other portraits show powerful The Hague women from today on bikes. From a young talent to the junior cycling mayor, and from a volunteer cycling ambassador to a woman now working to promote women’s cycling. Beautiful portraits and powerful quotes show what cycling means to them.<\/p>\n

All activities are free and aimed at creating involvement and activating participants to stand along the course on 12 August, come to the sports zone in the Zuiderpark or give the runners a warm welcome during the finish on Kijkduin. There is a special focus here on neighbourhoods where sports participation is low. <\/p>\n
